Give Me Life is a 12×12 inch original painting on stretched canvas.
This painting was inspired by the powerful energies of the ankh & the sun! The sun has been known as a symbol of power in many different cultures for many centuries because of its ability to bring light & warmth to the earth as well as nourish the plants, animals, & beings on this planet. Egyptians used the sun to connect it to several gods, such as Ra and Horus. It also became a symbol of power but also peaceand was used in many instances where it needed to portray this symbolism. For instance, Louis XIV, also known as Louis the Great or the Sun King, chose the sun as his symbol as he set out to restore peace and assume total control of his lands.
The ankh is also called the Egyptian cross & is a symbol of life itself. The Ankh represents eternal life. It signified wisdom & insight on the highest level & it was also a fertility symbol. The ankh was widely used as an amulet in Ancient Egypt. In Ancient Egyptian temples often show scenes where the king is offered the ankh by the gods because it symbolized the divine bestowal of eternal life.
