There’s so much uncertainty, for me, with this t-shirt, it’s not as direct as the other t-shirts. This one is like my baby, it’s actually inspired by my son. The t-shirt is suppose to read as an entire art piece which is, “hustle like you’re broke for something greater”. With “4 something greater”, you define what great means for you. The “hustle like you’re broke” that was powerful for me, which represents just maintaining that hunger. People my age, we’re raised on hustle culture, we were raised by the Cash Moneys and hip hop culture. Get Rich or Die Trying, Trap or Die. We were raised in a space of escaping poverty, kinda closing the door on poverty, on poverty being unacceptable. Watching my sister grow up and have to raise us, while raising her own, really put me onto not giving up. I can’t hide under the covers when sh*t hits the fan, I have to show up, be present and hustle, to not be broke.
