Delivered from the soul of a Black femme finding their reflection in the rush of river water, The Rootwork Stretched is a coming-of-age collection crafted with intention. Each poem maps the dynamic landscape of a Black femme becoming their own peace. The language of lineage bleeds through the page and performs the ritual of transformation from the inside out.
This 34-page, 7 inch by 7 inch poetry collection is written by Mant¿s, edited by Gabrielle Ralambo-Rajerison, and published by Deesha Philyaw and Vanessa German. Alexis Royall created the cover art, with the design and line illustrations credited to Tobi & Morgan at Poché Design Studio.
