Blu’s Hooks & Needles: Where Sissy’s Crochet Creations and Royal Blu Beads come together
Hey! My name is Anasia, but you can call me Blu. I grew up in New Jersey where I learned how to crochet from my Mom and Grandmother. I come from a very crafty and artistic family. I honed my skills with age by crocheting items of my own designs and recreating items I see in photos. I can crochet almost anything! Crochet is a long time passion of mine. A few years ago I started learning about Traditional African Waist Beads, the history, and what they’re used for. I was so in love with their beauty so made some for myself. The self awareness and self love that came with every step of the process, from choosing the colors to tying them on, was so empowering. I had to make more and spread this feeling to others! When people would see the things I created I was often told I should sell them. I’ve been doing so on a small scale just for pleasure. Now, because of my daughter’s recent medical diagnosis, my family has been dealing with new, overwhelming expenses. The profits from sales here are used to directly help with these new hurdles as we travel the road to recovery. Thank you for reading my bio and thank you for supporting my small black owned business.
