Story behind:
This boubou dress is named after Safira, for the women who do not let themselves be defeated by the everyday problems of life. Elegant, fierce and bossy, Safira is the Daada Saaré of Alhadji Issa, which means first wife of Alhadji Issa in Fulani. Her husband, after 20 years of marriage and multiple loving children, caved under pressure and finally took a second wife. For Safira, this high treason made her change from a loving and adorable wife to a manipulative co-wife.
The design on the front is inspired by a particular Fulani Calabashes décor styling, which aims to protect against bad luck.
